English Petanque Association Ladies Triples - Round 2
Congratulations to Jan Baker Mary McDonald and Merle Sullivan on their second place result in this competition. this combined with their previous result puts them in 4th position overall. London Triples 2008
These were held at the newly formed Kingston Club and organised by it's President Ben Brousson.
The start to the day was delayed as two teams had forgot to put their clock forward!
The weather held out and on a fine day 4 triples attended, a slightly low turnout but that left plenty of room on the piste which could hold a maximum of 3 simultaneous games.
Two rounds of a round robin were played. with the morning finishing with three teams on two wins +13 +11 and +6. One team obviously no wins and -30.
After a nice pub lunch three more games were played, the lunch must have revitalised the team in 4th place, as they went on to win all their afternoon games!
Final positions were:-
1 Ben, Flo and Dan - 4wins +19 (Local team )
2 Jan, Nick and Gordon - 3 wins +3
3 Kaoushik, Tom and Andrew - 3 wins -13 (guess who were trailing this AM)
4 Merle, Mark and Rachide - 2 wins -9

London Singles
These were held at Harrow this year, judging by the recent weather situation we expected a bit of a washout, parts of Harrow had been flooded the previous Friday with nearly a foot (30cm) of water outside of the webmasters house. However it turned out to be a dry hot day with 20 London Members competing. The event was organised as 5 leagues of 4 in the morning with a rolling knock-out for the main and a straight forward knock out for the plate in the PM . There were many close matches (13:12) and the odd fanny.
The day also had some excitement with the Harrow club house being burgled overnight, luckily the bar was still intact so there were some drinks available!
National Triples 2007
London also provided two thirds of this winning team, Silvain Borsi and Moez Ayadi and the other third was an ex member Rachid Hannache.
